Check For the third time, the poker playing ability of News Channel 8 weather forecaster Matt Scott has paid off for the Dr. Mel Goldstein Multiple Myeloma Fund at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Matt was invited to take part in a media poker tournament at Foxwoods sponsored by the World Poker Finals, and he finished in 5th place and walked away with $950, which he donated to Dr. Mel's fund.

Dr. Mel was given a big check during News Channel 8 at Noon.

It's not the first time Matt's poker skills have helped others. In past tournaments he won $500 and $2,000, and both times the money went right to Dr. Mel's Fund.
